I like art, I am good at art. It is a way to express myself. When I’m done, and if I like what I made I place it in my bedroom wall. I like them there, it makes me fell good .But every time my mother comes to my room she complains about it. It drives me nuts; everyone that comes into my room loves it except her. Is art in my walls really a bad thing, and if it isn’t what should I do about my mother?
Is art good in walls?
It would be a dull world if we always agreed with our parents, and a horrible one if we never did.
Ask you mother if you can compromise - you keep the room picked up, she doesn't complain about art.
You didn't say why she complained. If your art is not as good as the prints she can buy, that is one thing. You can compromise. If your are drawing dead babies and bloody skulls or working in cattle dung and found objects, that is different, and you should wait until you rent your own apartment to hang your art.
Finally, if you are renting and putting holes in the wall to hang your art, your mother knows her security deposit is going down the toilet, so she has a legitimate complaint.
Reply:Talk to your mom with out raising your voice, be an adult and tell her how you feel about it. Maybe she will realize how compassionate you are about it and will be a little more flexible about the whole thing. IT is her house, so should does have the right to have the last word and to lay down the law, you just got to give her a good reason to allow you to do what you want with your art.
