Do you like art?(why?)?

do you often go to art gallery or museum?

in your childhood, what experience of art did you have?

what art form were you best at?

do you think it's important to keep art in school?(why?)

Do you like art?(why?)?
I love art, why? Simply because I can appreciate something creative, inspirational or outright beautiful. And that's what art is,a freedom of expression,it's personal to the artist and gives us an insight into the minds of others.

I wish I had more opportunity to visit art galleries and museums, my goal is to go to the Louvre one day. And to visit Rome to see all the beautiful architecture, especially the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum.

Unfortunately when I was a child the only experience of art in the conventional sense was one side of my own family who were into,painting,sketching,sculpting,dancin... from local artists who painted the town and countryside. I didn't get much first hand experience until a lot later on. It wasn't until Secondary School that I really managed to explore my interests and I was about the only one who got on with my art teacher who really encouraged and praised my efforts. I felt sorry for him though because almost all of the students in my group had little to no interest in art, they didn't want to be there and they didn't want to learn and this man was a really good artist, temprament and all, it must have been soul destroying for him and he often lost his temper in class.

Despite the difficulties I think it is *so* important to have art in school,if for no other reason than to encourage creativity because you cannot function in the real world if you have no imagination or creativity.

Then again I may be a bit biased,as you can see i'm rather passionate about my art and the thought of future generations...of *my* children being deprived of art is a soul destroying thought, too horrible to imagine.

Oh and for the record my first artistic interest was photography but my favorite and probably best art medium was simple paper and pencil.Rough sketches in graphite or flicks of colour in water based pencils.
Reply:Art is the soul (or at least it reveals part of the soul) of people, that is why I love art, specially since the expressionists made it such. I love (classical) music for the same reason, although music is more subtler and complex than painting.

2. Museums and galleries ? When I can, but good exhibitions in Belgium are quite rare and I can't afford to go to Paris or Amsterdam that often.

3. and 4. My art experience as a child was with music. I played the piano from 10 years old until now (I am 45) : Chopin, JSB, Mozart were my favorites.

5. Very important. Otherwise where would children learn REAL art ? On the web ?
Reply:Art was my life but my environment kill it. I was a hard working painter but moved to an area where people did not appreciate me and wanted to pay pennies for painting. I will move in the near future and start again but I lost 10 years of painting, so art in a living thing and emotions has a lot to do with it. Art is sometimes personal to me and only deserving people should be involved with it.

When I lived in D.C I went almost everyday to stare at the masters then I would go back to my studio and go crazy for hours.

As a child I use to ask my uncle, who is an artist do draw for me, he tried to make me do art but I was never ready. It took another 25 years before I picked up a pencil to draw and a brush to paint. My first painting was a masterpiece and for years I did not stop.

It is another form of expression and people love something they will do anything to own it. Its more important than Math to me. Oils is the best.
Reply:I luv art coz u can express ur feelings al2gether and U feel nice.......................................
Reply:I like art, I think it is essence of life. In my country there are not many opportunities to meet a really good art in museums, but Vienna is not that far. I am artist trying to maintain regular activity of painting and drawing. But I have to admit that last years I read and write about art more than do a real artwork. Childhood was wasted, no environment for developing my desire to create. I think it is good to keep art at school. Children should face that phenomenon and learn about it in early age. Get a basic overview of what was going in the world. Find a coordinates of their life.

Reply:art''s sth spirtial. it can show ur thoughts. it can show complicated thoughts. it can free ur mind.

also i think it is different from one to another. maybe u don't like art. but ,for sure, no one can hate it

I LOVE ART SOOOOOOOO MUCHY
Reply:I love art because it is an oasis from reality and there is a piece in every gallery to cater for your different moods. Making art is both theraputic and creative and you're a gifted person if you can translate your anxieties into creativity. I love seeing galleries the most though because they are like little temples where any opinion is welcome and beauty and colour and talent swallow you up.

Art is essential in schools otherwise we would all be miserable before we turn 12 for lack of a creative outlet!

Keep busy, it will keep you out of trouble x
Reply:naw not really i don't like art but i think it important for school
