True art and science?

What does it mean to be a true art and science? How would you define it? Someone asked in a crit of my chapter. And what is a true art and science? And why? Here's the sentence I have she commented on: When Cat tracked him down, he indeed became a challenge to a true art and science.

Can you help me out?

True art and science?
True art means real talent %26amp; skill

Science means the knowledge %26amp; infomation obtained

So I'd say the phrase means its a combination of skill %26amp; information on the subject.
Reply:Why did you use this term if you couldn't define it? Did you copy it from somewhere?

Is "art and science" describing a particular curriculum, as opposed to "vocational and technical?" Then, if a true "art and science" person is someone who follow this curriculum, are they nerdy? Brainy? Touchy-feely? What were you trying to convey?

Note the use of the quotation marks. This shows it as a term and makes it less confusing.
