I am a student studenting art and plan on studying Art Therapy. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on what I need to do to become an Art therapist. Also what school are good out there in the U.S. Are there any current Art therapist that are well know? After get a degree in Art Therapy do I still need a Certifiate? If you can please only answer if you have an answer to any of these question. Thank you!
Does anyone Know anything about ART THERAPY?
Entry into art therapy is at the masters level and I strongly encourage you to pursue that track at an accredited school for art therapy. Not only will you be able to get a better job after you graduate because the program is accredited, but also the accreditation certifies that your education follows the appropriate guidelines, is rooted in quality, and is overseen by the appropriate professional bodies.
The American Art Therapy Association (AATA) is the accrediting agency you should look for when applying to colleges and universities.
