Site art? can you help me with my university fine art project? uk based please?

i have to create site art at a chosen location. something unique and quirky. i have chosen an old army church, which has no roof due to being bombed in the war. It is just a shell, but is enclosed by surrounding fence and grass. It has cannons and other wartime objects.

what 'art' could i create that would fit this chosen area? i thought of making a 'no man's land' fence with old army boots tied on to the barbed wire for a strong image.

what else could i do and any other ideas?

if you want to look up my site, type in Garrison church, portsmouth, uk to see pictures of my site

can you use photoshop? you could do a banksy style spray paint stencil effect of some soldiers against the walls of the outside of the building and maybe even some injured on the grass? or you could do one of the murdered bishop laying on the entrance floor?

If you can't use photoshop you could maybe use black card cut outs in stencil styles?

You could mix this with real objects....boots and war objects
Reply:It's beautiful!

See if you can't get hold of a roll of barbed wire and some timber to make an X frame. If you can get hold of an old army rifle, it would go well with your boots.

See if you can lay your hands on some WWI soldier's memorabilia, like tobacco tins, puttees etc.

To finish the effect, see if you can't get hold of a theatrical smoke cannister...

Alternatively, think about setting up a tableau of the home guard fighting the fire in the roof
Reply:What about taking a different approach and possibly having a positive feeling piece that reflects rebirth, hopes and dreams.

The church would then create a counterpoint rather than a confirmation of the stupidity and suffering caused by war. Explore the theme of rebirth or innocence or the natural environment.
