Can religious art ever do God justice?

I would be grateful if anyone religious could give me there oppinion on religious art. How important is it? Can religious art ever do God justice in paintings of the holy trinity ect. I would be really interested to hear the views of any Muslims on religious art, like why pictures of Allah are forbidden and what other methods of art are effective at conveying religious ideas.

Thanks

Can religious art ever do God justice?
Anyone who follows the ten commandments should not make any images of god, as that would violate the third commandment. And how can any picture depict god, if he is infinite?
Reply:In my opinion, you have to be careful when it comes to religious art. In the bible it says not to worship any other idols which some people pray to pictures, etc. For me, a cross on the wall reminds me of when Jesus died for us and it also reminds me to pray. I have pictures of the ocean, etc... that has bible scripture on it. The scripture pertains to my daily life and helps encourage me. As for doing God justice? I would say not really. It is more for us.
Reply:well i never seen that much religious Art in my life but is what i notice the most is the art that don't do Jesus any justice. the good stuff is in Rome. I never had been there and hope to visit it in my lifetime. I hope someone does a better job of answer's your question better then me.
Reply:Not sure about allah but I know in the Bible it says that it is a shame for man to have long hair. so all these paintings of Jesus with long hair are incorrect.
