Suggestions for math-themed art pieces?

I have to do a project of 5 pieces (paintings and/or sculptures) for art class, and I'm going with an art %26amp; math theme, illustrating the math in art and how math can be art. So far i have 3 pieces figured out; a painting of the Parthenon, half real/half blueprint; a hypercube sculpture, and something illustrating fractal patterns (likely a simple fern leaf or a tree).

So if you have any suggestions for art-oriented pieces, i could use them, I'm not rushing to get them figured out right now, but i like to be prepared.

Suggestions for math-themed art pieces?
You could do a face ... make it all mathmatically correct. Make the eyes exactly the same distance and work those measurements for the nose and the mouth. Same with the ears ... my cousin did that for an art project and it still sits in the school office at his old high school. It was a really cool looking piece of work.

Or how about something to do w/ space. That is all about math and then you can throw in some really awesome water color art ... like the proportions of viewing stars on Earth to the sun on Earth ...
Reply:For some ideas you can check out the Symmetry and Asymmetry Exhibit. I'm sure you can find it online. It was at the Hungarian National Gallery in the fall of '89.
Reply:I would say something that has to do with Leonardo da Vinci, like how he used math and science to figure out things about the humans body, so use a body and show proportions and such.

Maybe a painting of something in nature that has like two trees, three rocks, four birds you know something with a distinct numerical value, you could arrange some of the objects to your satisfaction and take a picture so you can work on the piece withoutbeing there and you could use is as a reference.

Um, unfortunatly this is really hard to come up with ideas!! You have very good ideas already so I hope these helped and fit along! Good luck! Cool project and theme idea!
