What is Art?

And how is it distinguishable from other human "non-art" activities? Or are all human activities art? Also, is there any objective standard by which to judge art, or is all art equal?

What is Art?
Art is the creative expression of ones or another's perception through a particular medium
Reply:*Some Art is created AS art, and is therefore art regardless of standard perception or judgement.

*Activities can certainly be viewed as art, depending on perception. (Even perception can be art.)

*I believe it would be unfair to many artists to say all art is equal.

*"standards" for judgement would only be realistic if all humans were clones.
Reply:i am a painter (but amateur yet.)and i know that art is everything for me . i am painting since i was five..sometimes i think i can't live without art.Yes maybe it is not plausible but it is true. You can't learn Art,you should live it.
Reply:Art is the creation or expression of one or more humans that reveals something to other humans that is not readily apparent in their everyday life.

We usually distinguish academic lectures and discussions as something different than art though it might still satisfy the expression above. In other words there is someome more involved that just the intellect.
Reply:art is a way of expressing yourself

Does this look good
